halia

home free- almost! yesterday we celebrated the last day of our programmes for this month at halia restaurant at the singapore botanic gardens. lunch was hosted by another agency, and they ordered a lovely lovely menu. The salad was really nice and i was full by the time we finished the potato and leek soup. I pushed around the chicken entree that i had chose as i was pretty full saving some space for the dessert. I knew it was going to be really good!

It was...ginger nougat with a pineapple compote. I could have done without the pineapple. it was way too sweet for me- although i'm sure it was only lightly sugared. but the nougat was to die for- it was basically ginger flavoured ice-cream with nougat bits. shaped just like a giant toblerone bit- it was to die for. i eyed longingly at the untouched bowls of some of the other guests- who obviously didn't have a sweet tooth. i thought for quite awhile if it was too gross to ask them if i could finish their leftovers. I was really tempted but reminded myself that potraying myself as a gross pig wasn't really good for my professional image! lol.

i'm definitely going back for more soon!
