Mommy's first fresh prata brekkie

12 weeks

It was a spontaneous decision. The twins were having their morning feed, when Mr Eveel said he started work a little late today.  Immediately, the thought of prata- lovely, fluffy, buttery, greasy prata popped into my head. I suggested wheeling the boys out in their pram to the nearby prata place at Casuarina, and Mr Eveel who shares my deep passion for the greasy breakfast item immediately nodded in excitement!

It's a 10 min walk to the prata shop and we brisked walked rather than strolled as Mr Eveel had only about an hour to spare before he had to head to work.

It didn't really bother me much that I was wearing my be-a-sloth outfit for home, and didn't even have time to comb my hair. I was just excited about...you guessed it...eating prata! lol.

The twins were amazing in their pram this morning. Neither cried for the first time ever in their pram and instead look like they were having a ball of a time enjoying the fresh morning air (well as much fresh morning air you can get during peak hour morning traffic). I've learnt that the hour right after their nap and milk, is the bewitching hour when they'd sit quietly in their car seat, stroller or happily play alone in their jungle gym! It did take me 11 weeks to figure this out, but I guess better late than never. LOL.

Mr Eveel and I have quite gotten used to eating with the twins in one hand. Unlike parents with one baby who can take turns to eat. Ours is a juggling act depending on the mood of the twins.

It was almost automatic for me, as soon as the prata arrived, to cut the prata into small pieces, just like my mom used to do for me when i was a lil girl, so that I could just 'stab and shove (into my mouth)' as the twins tend to want to climb up onto us once we're stationary! And true enough lil Ipin immediately wanted to be carried.

Lil Ipin w the nice lady
The twins usually get a lot of attention from strangers when we're out. This time a nice lady who sat right behind us was immediately enamoured by lil Ipin, and even volunteered to carry him while I ate. Ipin was very happy to have her carry him around, while mommy got to enjoy her morning prata. Although I still stabbed and shoved just in case he got cranky and needed me.

All in all, an excellent start to our Tuesday morning! Mr Eveel and I hope to make this a Tuesday morning habit!

OH btw, if you feel that this post seems staccato-ish...its really cos i'm typing furiously while tapping the twins to lengthen their morning nap. A mommy's gotta do what a mommy's gotta do!

OMG THE CUTE. I love how everyone acts around twins!

Forget prata, I'm gonna eat your adorable babies!! (ok, that sounded really wrong, but you get the idea :P)

I am saving money for a ticket to Singers pronto, so I can snurgle these bubs.

Also, I remember having to eat quickly and tend to the little one, and being aware that there is no such thing as a relaxing meal. You guys have it down pat, I can see. Doing such a great job, mama and papa.

can't wait for you to come n visit. rem to give me early notice so that i can take leave and pay 100% attention to you!

imp: yes it is fun to be about. and much less stressful when its to places so near home. I still get stressed out when we go out for long periods far from home. lol

Iva, will let you know as soon as I know.

I tell you the amt. of barang I have purchased for the boys and Mik, it's gonna be excess baggage!! I hope it will still fit. Mik's items are getting smaller by the day... I got Iwan's address to mail it to him but then I got something else and then thought might as well just bring it in person.

Let me know if you still want the Sydney Aquarium T shirt.

Wah! Stuff for Mik! Thanks Sonia! I think it will still fit him, he's small like his daddy when he was younger ;) Unlike now of course!

Kakak, let's have brunch on polling day. Can celebrate mothers' day too?
